How to Make Coffee with a French Press
Sure-footed and sincere
French press coffee is dense and heavy, yet it has its own sort of elegance. As with any method, the devil is in the details: To achieve a full expression of the coffee, decant it immediately after brewing so it doesn’t become bitter or chalky. Then, sink into this rich and heady cup. It only takes four minutes to brew.

Instructions
French Press
1. Begin by heating water between 205 and 210 degrees.
2. Grind 30 grams of coffee at a course, but even grind.
3. Place the French Press onto your scale and pour in the ground coffee. Tare the scale.
4. Start your timer and add 350 grams of water to the coffee.
5. Give the grounds a gentle stir and allow the coffee to bloom.
6. Remove the press from the scale and return the lid to the top of the carafe.
7. At four minutes, slowly begin pressing down on the plunger. This should take around 20 seconds to complete.
8. If you feel strong resistance, your grind is likely too fine, and alternatively, if it plunges very quickly, your grinds are probably too coarse.
9. Make sure to line up the pouring filter with the spout as you pour.
10. Enjoy.
